Abstract:
This independent study aimed to investigate the influence of personal factors, external environment factors and tourism potential of local tourist attractions in Thailand affecting the decision making process towards travelling to local tourist sites in Thailand by foreign tourists
The sample were 400 foreign tourists visiting local tourist attractions of Thailand from October to December 2018. The statis used for analyzing data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and tested by Independent samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, Simple Regression, Multiple Regression and Correlation with statistical significance at .05.
The result of the hypothesis testing showed that the tourists age and occupation affected their decision making process towards travelling to local tourist attractions in Thailand. Moreover, the external environment and the attraction potential were associated with their decision making. In addition, the result of multiple regression analysis revealed that the external environment factors, including political and economic and the tourism potential, including management and activity and process, influenced their decision making with statistical significance at .05.
