Abstract:
This independent study aimed (1) to study the characteristics of the consumers, the effect of marketing mix, and the consumer behaviors on using hotels service in Yala Province, (2) to find the relationship between the characteristics of the consumers, the effect of marketing mix, and the consumer behaviors on using hotels service in Yala Province, and (3) to study the consumers problems and suggestions on using hotels in Yala city municipality area. The samples were 320 consumers. Questionnaires were used as a tool to collect data. Frequency, percentage, standard deviation and Pearson Chi square were used for data analysis.
The study revealed that the most samples were Buddhist married female aged between 30-39 years old. They were government officers/ state enterprise officers with bachelor degree, and earned a monthly income between 10,000-20,000 baht.
The overall marketing mix on using hotels in term of products, prices, distribution channels, marketing promotions, staff, service procedure and physical environment were at a high level.
The consumer behaviors on using hotels service in terms of room type was a standard room (single bed) which was occupied during April-June at 12.01-6.00 pm. The main purpose was staying by choosing the hotel where is nearest the tourist attractions and the most reasonable price.
The relationship between the consumer characteristic and behavior on using hotels service in Yala province, the overview found that religion, education, career and income were related with the using hotels service in Yala province which are statistically significant at 0.001 level.
The relation between the marketing mix and the consumer behaviors on using hotels service in Yala province, the overview found that the marketing mixes in terms of products, prices, distribution channels, marketing promotions, staff, service procedure and physical environment were related to behavior of using hotels service in Yala province which are statistically significant at 0.001 level.
The problems and suggestions on using hotels service in Yala province in terms of products revealed that the detail of the hotels areas should be clearly marked for the customers convenience. The price should be appropriate with the room condition. The parking lot should be provided for distribution channels. The hotels website or Facebook should be created for marketing promotions. The staff should be continually trained. Free internet and night meal should be provided for service procedure. The facilities and location decoration should be provided for physical environment.
