Abstract:
Ethanol bioethanol is an attractive biofuel having potential for alternative energy resource and environmentally friendly over fossil fuels. To guarantee the quality of ethanol as biofuels, several important parameters must be determined such as pHe, water content, inorganic impurities and electrolytic conductivity (EC). EC is an important parameter, which is an indicative of the risk of corrosion in engine. The metrological traceability of EC measurement of this material is necessary to underpin. This study presents the certification of ethanol reference material (E-RM) for EC measurement by secondary method using Jones-type conductance cell. Homogeneity and stability studies demonstrate that the ethanol certified reference material (E-CRM) is homogenized and relatively stable over 4 months. The conductivity value of the E-CRM is micro S cm-1. This E-CRM will provide the metrological traceability needs for EC measurement of ethanol bioethanol in laboratories in Thailand
