Cognitive understanding of teaching competencies of the elementary school teachers under the jurisdiction of the office of Sing Buri provincial primary education
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the cognitive understanding of teaching competencies of the elementary school teachers under the jurisdiction of the Office of Sing Buri Primary Education. One thousand three hundred and twenty-nine copies of test were distributed to elementary school teachers under the jurisdiction of the Office of Sing Buri Provincial Primary Education and 1,217 copies or 91.57 percent were completed and returned. Data were analyzed by using percentage, arithematic mean and standard deviation then rated into levels of cognitive understanding. The research results showed as follows: The cognitive understanding of teaching competencies of elementary school teachers under the jurisidiction of the Office of Sing Buri Provincial Primary Education was rated at the moderate level. If consider each cognitive understanding separately the data indicated that the cognitive understanding rated to general teaching principles was rated at the moderate level by which their understanding in teaching preparation and media application were at the high level, instructional technique and evaluation, class discipline and teaching were at the moderate level. With regards to teaching competencies in specific subjects data showed that their cognitive understanding were rated at the moderate level whereby tool subject area and work-oriented experience area and Thai language were rated at the high level, whereas mathematics, desirable character development, life experience area, and special subject experience area (English language were rated at the moderate level.
