Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to analyze the social studies concepts in social studies textbooks, Lower Secondary School Curriculum B.E. 2521, to study the compatibility of the social studies concepts presented in the textbooks and those which were designated by the objectives of the Lower Secondary School Curriculum B.E. 2521, and to study the technique of. presentation of social studies concepts in the social studies textbooks, Lower Secondary School Curriculum B.E. 2521. The findings of this research were as follows: 1. The social studies concepts presented in social studies textbooks, Lower Secondary School Curriculum B.E. 2521 namely " S101 S102 Our Country" for Matayom Suksa I, "S 203 S 204 Our Neighboring Countries" for Matayom Suksa II, and "S 305 - S 306 Our World" for Matayom Suksa III were at the percentage of 18.45, 17.38 and 19.89 respectively 2. The social studies concepts presented in social studies textbooks for each grade level were compatible with the social studies concepts which were designated by the objectives of Lower Secondary School Social Studies Curriculum B.E. 2521 at the percentage of 18.45, 17.38 and 19.89 respectively. 3. The presentation technique of social studies concepts in social studies textbooks for each grade level was mostly expository, at the percentage of 76.37, 72.52 and 64.74 respectively and minimally discovery, at the percentage of 23.62, 27.48 and 35.25 respectively.
