Implementing philosophy of sufficiency economy to the management of ABC Public Limited Company (Thailand): A case study of Santirat Village in Moo 5, Na Wang Hin Sub-district, Phanat Nikhom district, Chon Buri Province
Abstract:
The research had the following objectives: 1) to study the development model of ABC Public Limited Company (Thailand), a case study of Santirat Village in Moo 5, Na Wang Hin Sub-district, Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province and 2) to study problems and obstacles in implementing the philosophy of sufficiency economy to the management of the company. The study was aqualitative research by using clustering sampling for this case study. Therefore, the researcher chose the management of one village from Chonburi Province which was Santirat Village. The researcher defined the methodology as follows: 1) to determine the sample 2) to determine the instrument, 3) to invent the instrument, 4) to collect data, 5) to test the reliability of the instrument, and6) to analyze the data. The findings revealed that after the implementation of the philosophy of sufficiency economy to develop the organization which had the social role on agriculture and food, there was the awareness of the quality of life of retired police officers. When they retired, they would have to move from the place where they lived and would be able to have income to support their family. Based on the allocation of the land, the management of the Santirat Village was to add more income and to create the occupation providing sustainable income for both working and retired police officers. The implementation of the philosophy of sufficiency economy also substantially and sustainably supported the stability of the family of the police officers after their retirement. To the problems and obstacles of the implementation of the philosophy of sufficiency economy, the villagers didnt understand the learning process and they rejected acquiring new knowledge. In addition, they were used to working in thetraditional way so that they refused to cooperate in changing the way they worked. The controversial issues were solved incorrectly. They didnt know how to use group process to solve the problems although they should use it.
