The use of organic fertilizer to reduce production cost regarding to philosophy of sufficiency economy and to develop community enterprise in Kudsimkummai Sub-district, Khao wong district, Kalasin Province
Abstract:
This study attempts to support members and agriculturists in nearby circumstances to use organic fertilizers to reduce production cost and to promote careers. This Participatory Action Research (PAR) study utilized questionnaire and observation as research tools to collect data. The population in this study were 12 members of Nong Snow Community Enterprise, Moo 8, Kudsimkummai Sub-district, Khao Wong District, Kalasin Province. The findings reveal that the project of using organic fertilizers to reduce production cost according to philosophy of sufficiency economy played an important role to develop Nong Snow Community Enterprise, Moo 8, Kudsimkummai Sub-district, Khao Wong District, Kalasin Province, especially to urge people to pay attention in participating activities of the community enterprise. However, it was found that they could not participate much since the participants obliged several duties as well as the activities held during planting and harvesting seasons. Therefore, people did not seriously focus on career promotion of using organic fertilizers to reduce production cost according to philosophy of sufficiency economy. Most members of the community enterprise and agriculturists in the nearby area still lacked of understanding and experience, hence they could not fully apply philosophy of sufficiency economy. Also, there were no officials responsible for the project. Since there was limited time to operate the activities for career promotion, the activities could not run continuously. Most people still lacked of understanding in patterns and aspects to manage with marketing problems. They were not interested in the project because they thought and believed that the use of organic fertilizers were more difficult than the use of chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizer could be effective in short time. When people learn more about this, they felt negative and they underestimated agriculture. In short, they were not interested in participated in the project of using organic fertilizers to reduce production cost according to philosophy of sufficiency economy
