Abstract:
Durian is one of crucial economic fruits. Currently, Thai fruit trading was intervened from Chinese investors into the packing fruit (Long or Chinese Long) in order to buy Thai fruits and export to People's Republic of China. Thai fruit trade was dominated .It should be a quality management to be accepted from other countries after harvesting, and set durians ready for destination markets. This could cease monopoly by Chinese traders' warehouse. The relationship between durian agriculturists, durian buyer and Chinese traders were studied. Using data collected by in-depth interviews with 17 durian agriculturists and buyers of 3 in ChanthaburiProvince. The results reveal that the majority of agriculturists had knowledge in harvesting management but could not manage their harvested fruit because the financial factors and export factors. For durian buyers, it was found that they knew how to manage after harvesting but they could make the market atPeople's Republic of China because the pressure group took care of this market. It was difficult for Thai traders to export durian to People's Republic of China because of the international trade law. There was no legal investment when the trade was conducted by Chinese traders. The Chinese law on the trade of fruit and vegetable, intensive investigation for remained toxin, fruit size, and import customs was considered a trade barrier. In the future, if Thai traders would like to export to other countries apart from China, they need to have the knowledge on food science and technology to preserve durian in order to increase marketshare.
