Abstract:
This research study attempts to study competency and performance efficiency of employees in a petrochemical company in basic oil production division, and to study the relationship betweencompetency and performance efficiency of employees in a petrochemical company in basic oil production division. The data were collected using questionnaires from the subjects. The population in this study were 110 employees in basic oil production division, a petrochemical company. The statistics utilized to analyze the data were descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation whereas inferential statistics including t-test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis to test the hypothesis. The findings reveal that the majority of the respondents were males, in the age of 36-40, worked in operational level, obtained below bachelor degree, earned work experience of 16-20 years. Moreover, the results from the test of hypothesis showed the relationship between competency and performance efficiency of employees in a petrochemical company, a case study of employees in IRPC basic oil production division that leadership competencies, core competencies, competencies in their work, technical competencies did not influence performance efficiency of employees at the significant level of 0.05.
