A comparative study of factors influencing the decision to use financial services via the internet: A case study of Bank of Ayudhya (Public Company Limited) and Cimb Bank (Public Company Limited)
Abstract:
The study which was a survey research had objectives to compare factors influencing the customers decision to use Internet financial services between Bank of Ayudhaya (Public Company Ltd.) and CIMB Bank (Public Company Ltd.) and to study customers satisfaction with the use of Internet banking.. The findings revealed that for the comparative study of general information of the customers, respondents of both banks had similar demographic factors. This meant that the majority of both group of samples had the same age range which was under 40 years and they also had a bachelors degree. Most respondents were private sector employees and lived in Chonburi. For the differences in demographic factors, most of the respondents of the Bank of Ayudhaya were female and single customers whose average monthly income was 20,001-30,000. baht. On the other hand, most of the respondents of CIMB Bank were male and single customers whose monthly income was 10,001-20,000 baht. For the comparative study of the opinions on the acceptance of Internet Banking, the respondents of both banks had similar opinions. The average of acceptance of the use of Internet banking was at a high level. Both the easiness to use and perceived benefits were recognized the first rank. For the quality of the services, respondents of both banks perceived similar service quality, and the average of the service quality was at a high level. To the comparative study of the results from hypothesis testing concerning the acceptance of technology and service quality, it was found that the characteristics of the factors influencing decision to use Internet banking of the customers of both banks were alike at a significance level of 0.05.
