Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to : 1) study moral virtues factors of vocational students, 2) develop the proficiency of the development of an evaluation model for vocational students moral virtues based on theorydriven evaluation, and 3) evaluate the efficiency of the training course to promote the moral virtues of vocational students, and develop the training program to promote vocational students moral virtues. The research informants were experts, department heads, teachers, and students of vocational institutes under the Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and private enterprises. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire and evaluation form. The statistics used for data analysis included mean, standard deviation, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, path analysis and relative growth.
The results can be concluded as follows.
1. The moral virtues factors of vocational students included 7 factors with variances explanation of 65.08%, i.e. learning base, human being benefits, life sufficiency, mental support, self-esteem, career intention, and self-existence. The learning base could explain the highest variance (12.73%) with 8 indicators : honesty, responsibility, diligence, discipline, harmony, sacrifice, vocational admiration, and pursuing knowledge.
2. The results of the development and effective evaluation of the evaluation model for vocational students moral virtues based on theory-driven evaluation, include 3 models : action model, change model, and development model. Though the model efficiency was low, but it showed significance in practice.
3. The efficiency of the model on theoretical part was 82.18/ 80.93 higher than the set criteria. Moreover, the trainees reported very high appropriateness on training management and on training progress evaluation. Overall, vocational students progressed in higher pursuing knowledge.
