Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to develop the training programs for project based fundamental vocational subject to enhance creative thinking and to find the efficiency of the training programs for project based fundamental vocational subject to enhance creative thinking. The target group to evaluate the developed training model included 10 specialists in curriculum, education administration, and architectural and product design selected by the research criteria. While the target group to validate the efficiency of the training programs for project based fundamental vocational subject to enhance creative thinking consisted of 5 specialists. The developed training programs was piloted with 5 teachers from the Faculty of Architectural Design before implementing in the real training with 10 teachers from the Architecture Department and 5 teachers from Industrial Product design Department. The results can be concluded as follows.
1. The development of training programs for project based fundamental vocational subject to enhance creative thinking revealed that the training model consisted of 7 stages, i.e. analysis of basic industrial product design, content and teaching plan, defining teaching objectives, writing lesson plan of the fundamental vocational subject based on 7 steps of LAC Theory, pilot study of the training model, implementation, evaluation, feedback, and follow-up study. This training model was validated by the experts with very high appropriate and supporting the hypothesis.
2. The results of the developing training model revealed that the content consisted of 12 topics, i.e. (1) implementation of the curriculum into practice, (2) job analysis and constructing competency list, (3) writing behavioral objectives, (4) writing content handout, (5) writing exercise and test, (6) step-by-step operation sheet, (7) job form, (8) evaluation form, (9) developing instructional media, (10) learning and teaching method, (11) lesson plan, and (12) teaching supervision. Each topic included behavioral objective, content handout, exercise, media, training method, training plan, and test. 3. The evaluation of the model efficiency was conducted by CIPP Model with the results in 4 main aspects. (1) The content evaluation showed high congruence between training topics and training objectives with very high appropriateness of the training model. (2) The input valuation revealed high congruence between behavioral objectives and the training model components and content. (3) The process evaluation reported the results of model implementation on high theoretical achievement at 84.07/80.94 and the practical achievement at 80.74 higher than the set criteria resulting in high satisfaction of the trainees. (4) The product evaluation was conducted by the follow-up study of the development of project based fundamental vocational subject by the trainees revealing that the trainees were able to apply the knowledge from the training model creatively and appropriately resulting in high satisfaction of the Department Heads and students. Finally it can be concluded that the development of training programs for project based fundamental vocational subject to enhance creative thinking achieved higher than the set criteria according to the research hypothesis.
