Abstract:
The transportation of hot rolled steel coil product for the automotive industry is mostly imported from abroad by ship. This kind of material is very large and heavy which is difficult to transfer so in transferring process, it needs to use many tools and special expertise, however; the delay still occurs in distribution process to the places that produce. The efficiency improvement based on 6W1H and ECRS concept should be used in order to solve the problem, to improve, and to develop in one step by using the available resources. In order to increase the reliability and to confirm that the improvement based on the above concept is effective, the Program ARENA simulation model which is a stimulation program using computer system is used to be the efficiency evaluator before and after the improvement. The result from using the stimulation program is better and can be used for the development of the improvement guideline and for choosing the best way without having to do the real operation which will be waste of time and resources or sometimes, it also needs to stop the operation in some parts.
